Three Key Scriptural Principles of Healing

Today, I want to briefly share with you the three scriptural principles of healing that I used in my own journey to wellness. As you have probably heard before, I was suffering from over 90 symptoms, an atheist, homeless, and searching for something more. I had exhausted all my options and I wanted to give up on it all because I was so tired of how I felt.

As I walked in the early days of my Faith, I had to embrace the love and power of God. Trusting him became my daily practice and here is how I learned to trust Him along this path.

Principle 1: Transforming Through Faith and Neuroplasticity

The first principle is foundational to Christianity – when you invite Jesus into your life, you experience a profound transformation. Your old self dies, and a brand-new you emerges. In 2 Corinthians, 5:17, God promises, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. I came to understand that fear and stress are at the root of what doesn't align with God's plan. Although my healing journey posed various challenges, I realized that being born of God means living a life free from fear and stress.

At the heart of this transformation lies the key concept of recognizing our identity in Christ, building a deep relationship with Him, and learning to trust God. This path involves choosing to draw from the well of living water, cultivating intimacy with Jesus, immersing myself in the Word, and engaging in brain retraining. You have to acknowledge the obstacles faced during the healing process, including temporary increases in symptoms, but these signs are, in fact, indicators of progress. This journey is about learning to place our trust in God and allowing Him to lead us from lives overshadowed by fear and stress to ones filled with peace and renewal.

Principle 2: Having Courage On Your Healing Journey

The focus of the second scriptural principle is courage. Psalms 55:22 says, “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall”. God has already given you the victory in your healing journey, it just requires courage to step into. It is important to recognize negative thought patterns and fear are not from God, and they can hinder your progress towards freedom. Meditate on God’s work and stay grounded in truth. Perfect love casts out fear and that deeper relationship with God is crucial to finding the courage to face your challenges.

Principle 3: A Gateway to Trusting Confidence

Trust is a concept that has had a profound impact on my life, not just in terms of healing but also in how I guide others toward their own healing. In Jeremiah 17:7-8, it speaks of the blessings of trusting in the Lord, encompassing health, relationships, and prosperity. This trust principle aligns with Psalm 1, emphasizing success through God's Word. Trust alleviated my chronic illness that was rooted in stress and fear, unveiling the connection between stress and trust, facilitated by oxytocin, the "trust hormone." Anchoring in Jesus Christ's love has brought healing and courage to face challenges, encouraging others to not think of stress as a personal failure and rather a symptom of an unrenewed mind. Embrace God's love for a more peaceful and prosperous life. It wasn’t instant healing, but it was instant hope. Once I believed in God’s unconditional love for someone like me, I was able to embrace the process of retraining my brain. I had to believe it was possible before I could make it possible. God promises to provide and to remain by our side throughout our entire life journey if we are willing to accept it.
